Born in Miami, Florida, and raised in a single-parent household, West’s life took a defining turn
in 2013 when his family migrated to Canada as refugees. Upon arrival, they lived in a shelter —
an experience that gave him an early, unfiltered view of how systems can either confine human
potential or create pathways for renewal.
That moment didn’t just shape his resilience; it shaped his questions.
Why do some systems produce dignity while others produce dependency?
Why do institutions endure while people pass through them unchanged?
And what happens when systems are intentionally designed to put people first?
Those questions have guided West’s life and work ever since.
Today, West operates at the intersection of lived experience, systems thinking, and leadership
development. His work focuses on designing structures that awaken agency, cultivate
responsibility, and produce leadership that multiplies across generations.
Rather than centering leadership around personality or position, West focuses on architecture
— the unseen frameworks that shape culture, decision-making, and long-term outcomes. His
approach challenges the idea that transformation begins with institutions alone. Instead, he
argues that sustainable change begins with people, and systems must be built to support their
growth.
West’s long-term vision spans schools, governments, churches, healthcare systems,
